FLOOD

The rain outside,
She pours, she pounds
As if the Earth Herself
Wept with me...
The crashing thunder echoes
The beats of my breaking heart
The street has turned to river
Washing away the muck and mire
I wish it would wash away my desire
My yearning for what once was
For what could still be...
For the way we held hands
For the laughter and the Rapture
For the warm Lover's embrace
For the ecstasy that came...when WE did...
For the love that has been all but lost...
For the memory of joy and pain...
For these the Earth weeps with me
So that she may wash away my pain
All that is lost, all that is missing
.... my Rainbo...
